'Several drug dealers': Weed Eater sold

8 p.m. — First Block of Undermount Path West. Larceny. A female homeowner stated that on March 5 at about 8 p.m., she let her male friend into her garage to get some gasoline for his vehicle.

While the suspect was getting the gas, the woman went inside to use the restroom. After returning, she noticed the garage door was closing and the suspect was leaving. The woman also stated the suspect asked if he could pawn her Weed Eater, but that she said no.

On March 10, the woman looked at the Weed Eater in her garage and noticed it wasn’t hers. She also noticed the edger and a small white television were missing.

The woman believes that while she was in the bathroom, the suspect took the items and sold them for drugs. The woman did not see the suspect take the items, but he was the only person to have access to her garage since March 5. The woman stated that she had been in contact with several drug dealers who told her that the suspect had sold the items. The woman declined to provide any more information on the subjects.

The woman could not provide serial numbers of any of the items taken. She stated the items were worth a total of $750.

Red flag up?

8:09 p.m. — First Block of Pinelynn Drive. Larceny. A woman said that a male was outside her home banging on her garage. The woman advised that the suspect was drunk and cursing at her. The suspect then left the area.

As the deputy was gathering information about the incident, the woman noticed her mailbox was missing and that the suspect must have taken it. The post was drilled into the dirt, but the box itself was missing.

At about 9:26 p.m., the deputy made contact with the suspect at his home. The mailbox was later returned to the woman and reinstalled to the best of the deputy's ability.

Cashing out: unlocked red van

2:46 p.m. — 5000 Block of North U.S. 1. Larceny-Motor Vehicle. A man stated that at about 9:30 p.m. March 14, he placed a blue bag containing approximately $5,000 in cash into his red van.

The man stated that he put the money bag either under his passenger seat or driver’s seat. The man noticed the money bag missing at about 10 a.m. March 15. The man is unsure how entry was made into the van, but he believes he must have left the doors unlocked.

It may be noted that the man was a vendor for Bike Week and at the time of the deputy's arrival, there were several hundred people in the area, not allowing the deputy to obtain shoe impressions, tire tracks or any other evidence. The deputy was unable to locate any latent prints on or around the vehicle and did not observe any signs of forced entry or other damage to the vehicle.
