A man was arrested Monday after walking down a street in Flagler Beach wearing nothing but a green baseball cap.
A witness alerted deputies after he saw a white male with numerous tattoos on his arms and back, later identified was James William Wise of Palm Coast, walking along North Central Avenue and North 17th Street. The witness told deputies he asked the man if he was O.K., but got no response, according to a charging affidavit.
The witness said Wise, 46, ran between two houses before reappearing wearing a pair of blue, see-through shorts.
A deputy that responded later searched Wise’s vehicle and found a firefighter’s jacket belonging to Flagler County Fire/Rescue neatly folded in Wise’s backseat. Wise said he found the jacket near his home in Palm Coast and that he has not had time to turn it in.
Wise was arrested on charges of indecent exposure and of possession of lost and abandoned property, both misdemeanor offenses. He was booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $750 bond.
