More than 130 children gathered 3,000 eggs scattered across the property in four age groups just before the storm rolled in Saturday, March 23, at the Palm Coast United Methodist Church Easter egg hunt.
This was the church’s first event open to the public on its new property.
“This is a way for us to let the community know where we are hoping to move in a few years, and that this property is here and to see how it works in the world,” said Kris Blanchek, director of education for adults and children.
The new property will be a place to host community events and is also host to a garden that will be used to donate produce to the food resource center. The church’s plan is to host all future community events on the new property, including trunk-or-treat and eventually a sports camp.
