Florida Hospital HospiceCare recently hosted the 2013 Volunteer Recognition Luncheon to honor the nearly 200 volunteers for the 2012 calendar year.
In 2012, Florida Hospital HospiceCare volunteers contributed 15,000 hours to the organization, at a value of more than $325,000.
“We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers’ contributions,” said Raeanne Cade, Florida Hospital HospiceCare Volunteer Coordinator. “While this cost savings was very important, our hospice volunteers' most important contribution was in their connection to patients and families, as well as the comfort and enhanced quality of life their service created.”
Barbara Cady, volunteer specialist, recognized individual volunteers for their contributions.
“A volunteer’s contribution touches the lives of many,” Cady said. “Whether they are supporting patients and families directly or are staffing the inpatient units at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center or at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House or assisting with administrative tasks and special events, our volunteers truly make a difference.”
The following Florida Hospital HospiceCare volunteers received one-year-of-service pins and are Flagler County residents: Patricia Alexander, Joanne Amicola, Robin Broadfield, Elaine Carlton, Doris Claybourn, Charlene Cothran, Louise Deckman, Joe Driscoll, Sue Fricker, Mike Gleason, John Harrington, Jean Hill, Sandra Judy, Rich McGowan, Bonnie Metz, Lee Mulvihill and Bea Walter.
