Ocean Art Gallery to host international artist

Ocean Art Gallery will present the sculpture and photographic art of Krystyna Madejczyk Friday, May 3, at its oceanfront gallery.

Madejczyk, from Krakow, Poland, by way of New York City, is internationally recognized for her sculpture, with exhibitions in Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Mexico, Canada and the United States. Winner of numerous art awards in Europe and the U.S., she graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland, with a master's degree in fine arts. Since 2006, she has served as president of Arts Group New York and is a member of the New York Society of Women Artists and the Polish American Photographic Club of New York. She also is affiliated with the Flagler County Art League and Hollingsworth Gallery.

Madejczyk will display a new collection of photographic pieces representing different styles. The opening reception will be held in conjunction with Flagler Beach’s First Friday Music in the Park celebration 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Ocean Art Gallery, located at 200 S. Oceanshore Blvd.

History of the Holy Land presentation planned
In conjunction with a ten-day Holy Land trip planned for September 2013, the Rev. Kevin James, of Palm Coast United Methodist Church, will hold a community presentation on the History of the Holy Land 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 and again 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at 5200 Belle Terre Parkway.

James, along with Educational Opportunities Tours, will be leading the Holy Land trip, which is sponsored by United Methodist Men. The trip is open to all interested parties; membership in the church is not required. For more information, call the church office at 445-1600.

Imagine School's of Florida Cheer and Dance Competition 2013 will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Flagler Palm Coast High School's 100 gym. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. and close at 11:45 a.m. Open to the public. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and children under 5 are free.
