The suspect then 'made off with the sunflowers'
4:42 p.m. — 800 Block of Fleming Avenue. Theft. Two sunflowers were stolen from a front yard garden, the victim told police.
It appeared, the officer reported, as if someone ripped them from the stems and “made off with the sunflowers.” There were no prints in the garden suggesting an animal ate them.
The victim didn’t know who might have taken the flowers, valued at approximately $3 each, and wishes to pursue charges. At the victim’s request, a request for extra patrol was sent out.

That’s not the remote
8:38 p.m. — 8000 Block of St. Georges Road. Weapons complaint. An Ormond Beach man was standing in his bedroom watching TV, while holding his Sturm Ruger 9mm handgun. And then it accidentally went off, he told police.
The bullet flew through his living room wall, his front door, across the hallway, through a neighbor’s apartment wall and off a closet frame before coming to rest in a corner near the kitchen, according to the report. The neighbor was home but wasn’t injured.
A criminal history check revealed it’s legal for the man to own a firearm.
