Drunk-dial M for Murder
12:27 a.m. — First Block of Camelia Drive. Simple or aggravated assault. The defendant, who had been drinking alcohol, tried to call his ex-girlfriend on the phone and became angry when she didn’t answer, according to reports.
While he was holding three knives in his hand, the defendant then called the man currently dating his ex-girlfriend. That's when the victim tried to calm the defendant down and, in response, the defendant tried to stab him in the stomach.
The two men got into a physical alteration, and the victim hurled a chair at the defendant.
The defendant was arrested for aggravated battery and was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

Blame it on the alcohol
5:50 p.m. — 500 Block of Shadow Lakes Boulevard. Simple or aggravated battery. Two friends were drinking alcohol on a porch when a verbal altercation occurred, according to reports.
One of the men exited the porch to “de-escalate” the argument, police reported, and that's when the victim's friend went “crazy” and jumped through the screen and tackled him, according to the victim.
The attacker, who'd jumped through the screen in a rampage, told police the argument started because his friend poked him in the eye.
Both of the men were intoxicated and didn’t want to pursue charges or have any additional contact with law enforcement.
