Ten Ormond Beachers were named top volunteers of 2012 by the United Way, throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.

The Volunteer Center of the United Way of Volusia-Flagler announced at the end of April its 26th-annual Outstanding Volunteers of the Year, at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort.
A total of 47 groups and individuals, who served more than 56,000 combined hours in 2012, representing a value of $1.24 million in man hours, were nominated.
“The work done by our nominees last year continue to touch all generations and all levels of support,” said United Way Volunteer Center Director Diane Olsen.
