OPINION: Bring back the errant street sign

I got an email from David McFee a couple of weeks ago, saying there was an error on a sign in Flagler Beach. I wanted to know how much it costs to get a sign replaced, but City Manager Bruce Campbell had it fixed immediately, and now the only evidence that remains is this picture.

Unfortunately, we have now missed a great opportunity, as McFee pointed out.

Think of the tourists who would have come to see Twenty-threeth Street! The shows on Broadway (Miracle on Twenty-threeth Street: The Musical), the reality shows (“What happens on Twenty-threeth Street, stays on Twenty-threeth Street”). People would have traveled from all around the world and, as the elected officials frequently remind us, these visitors would have eaten in our restaurants and stayed in our hotels, which would create jobs.

Now, instead, we have a boring old Twenty-third Street sign. Sigh.
