Put this case to bed

1:55 p.m. — 600 Block of South Nova Road. Suspicious incident. An Ormond Beach woman told police someone entered her apartment and stole a metal post from the footboard of her bed, and nothing else.

She believed a maintenance worker had done it to get back at her for complaints she'd made about his work, according to reports. The woman also suspects the maintenance worker “placed a flea on her cat one time."

The worker told police he doesn’t go into the woman’s room because of false accusations she has made against him.

After checking the woman’s room, the officer didn’t believe a burglary had taken place.

Street fighters

7:11 p.m. — 300 Block of South Atlantic Avenue. Disturbance. A man was sitting in his car eating, parked next to two women doing the same, when the women started arguing.

They began yelling profanities at each other, so the man told them to pipe down and pound pavement if they were going to yell. That's when the women got offended, according to reports, and turned on him.

They yelled at him to "mind his own business," then poked him in the chest. The man then pushed one of the women, he told police, and she tripped and fell.

No charges were filed.
