COPS CORNER: A blind poodle, lost in the rain, is reunited with its owner

Lost in the rain? A poodle deserves so much better; and, a summer skier trolls a neighborhood for unlocked doors.

Dog daze of summer

4:03 a.m. — 200 Block of Atlantic Avenue. Animal complaint. An Ormond Beach police officer responded to a call to find a blind, black poodle that appeared to be lost in the rain.

The reporting party told the officer that she found the dog wandering in the hospital parking lot and couldn't find its owner.

The officer noted that it appeared no one was out looking for the dog, which had a collar that had slipped off but no tags.

The 13-year-old poodle was later returned to its owner.

The summer skier

10:53 p.m. — 100 Block of Clyde Morris Boulevard. Suspicious person. An Ormond Beach police officer made contact with the reporting party, who said he witnessed a man walking through the neighborhood dressed in black and wearing a ski mask.

The person was pulling on doors of the neighborhood's clubhouse, according to reports. The reporting person said he followed the ski mask-clad suspect and made sure not to be seen.

The suspicious ski mask wearer was not found.
