Florida Hospital Flagler’s medical staff donated $2,000 in scholarships to four graduating high school students.
There were more than 50 applications, but this year’s four recipients, each receiving $500, were Flagler Palm Coast High School seniors Tiffani Cardillo and Felicity Furtado, as well as Matanzas High School seniors Michael Fitz and Cindy Orosz.
Florida Hospital Flagler’s medical staff has provided scholarships to Flagler Palm Coast and Matanzas high schools since 2004.
This year, a new recognition was added: the John M. Canakaris, MD, award, which honors a high school student who has volunteered within the community to help the underprivileged and less fortunate.
Cardillo was awarded that honor.
