Put it on my tab

2:11 p.m. — 800 Block of Atlantic Avenue. Failure to pay. A waitress recognized a man and told police he looked like someone who had previously walked out on a $30 tab.

When the waitress asked the man to pay his $5 bar tab from that day, she told police he said he didn’t have the money and needed to go to the bank. The waitress argued with the man, but the manager came out of his office and told her to let the man go to the bank.

The man didn’t return, the waitress told police, and the manager asked her to report the crime.

Call me: My number's 911

1:33 a.m. — First Block of Brookwood Drive. Narcotics. Three Ormond Beach police officers conducted a warrant attempt on an Ormond Beach man with an active Volusia County misdemeanor warrant.

One of the officers went around to the back of the house to ensure the man wouldn’t escape and, on his way, he noticed “three (potted) cannabis plants in plain view” in the backyard, and another plant on the back patio.

No one appeared to be home, the officers reported, and the plants were uprooted and collected as evidence. An officer left a note in one of the planters, which contained a police officer's phone number with a message to contact him if the person wanted their plants pack.
