Hi, my name is Rupert and I'll be your thief today
8:37 a.m. — 1500 Block of Ocean Shore Boulevard. Burglary conveyance. The victim and his girlfriend were leaving an Ormond Beach bar when they noticed the suspect rummaging through their vehicle.
The victim grabbed the man in an effort to stop him, according to reports, and the suspect turned around and punched him in the face before charging at his girlfriend, who struck the suspect in self defense.
The suspect then ran off but the victim chased after him and “yelled at the suspect, asking him what he stole.” The victim said that the suspect told him his name and that he was homeless but refused to return the iPod cord he took from the vehicle.
The victim gave authorities a photograph of the suspect, which he said he got off the Internet by searching his name.
The victim and his girlfriend said they didn’t immediately report the incident because they hoped to find the suspect and get the property back.
Bite me (not literally, please)
6:04 p.m. — First Block of Berkley Road. Threatening phone call. The victim met the defendant earlier in the year but hadn’t heard from her until that night, when the defendant called to berate her with obscenities, according to reports.
The victim received several follow-up calls after hanging up on the first one. After she stopped picking up the phone, the defendant left nine voicemail messages on her machine.
According to official reports, the defendant called the victim a “piece of (poopy)” and a “(b-word)” repeatedly in the messages.
A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputy visited the defendant’s home, and the defendant proceeded to yell profanities at him, too, as well as swing her arms trying to strike the deputy.
When the deputy tried to handcuff the defendant, she then tried to bite him. The defendant was finally taken into custody after several additional deputies arrived on scene.
The deputy reported that the defendant repeatedly hit her head and face on the glass partition in his car and wouldn't stop yelling. She was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
