SWAT came back from an 8-2 deficit to win and move one game closer to a championship.

Thanks to a six-run inning and some clutch pitching in the game’s final inning, SWAT advanced to the next round of the playoffs.

They’ll play Thursday night, after defeating VooDoo 10-8 May 28, in the Ormond Beach Youth Softball and Baseball 12- to 17-year-old division. SWAT will play the winner of Wednesday night’s matchup between MsFits and VooDoo.

Trailing 8-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, SWAT scored six runs to tie the game, and then scored twice in the bottom of the next inning.

However, VooDoo threatened to tie the game in the sixth and final inning, when the team had runners on second and third with just one out. Pitcher Miah Drew struck out a batter and then forced a groundout to end the game.

In the double elimination playoffs, SWAT has yet to lose a game and could win the championship Thursday, but a loss would extend the playoffs at least another game.
