Black market DVDs

1:41 p.m. — 600 Block of Atlantic Avenue. Trespassers. The suspect was in a store parking lot, flagging people down, when an Ormond Beach Police Officer made contact with him.

The officer reported that the man appeared under the influence “of an unknown substance and was not making much sense.” The suspect had an air compressor, a bicycle and a box of DVDs in his car, which he said he was trying to sell.

The officer then made contact with the store’s clerk, who said the suspect had been in the store earlier and was caught trying to conceal a cell phone charger in his pants. The clerk didn’t want to pursue charges, but wanted the suspect trespassed.

Yes we 'scam'!

3:05 p.m. — 100 Block of Grove Street. Fraud. The victim was contacted in regards to items she was trying to sell on Craigslist.

The suspect, according to reports, told the victim she needed to send him money so that he could have the items shipped properly, and that it was the victim’s responsibility as the seller to do so.

The victim agreed and sent two payments totaling more than $2,500 to an address in Texas. The suspect then asked the victim to send more money, this time to a location in Nigeria, but the victim refused and requested her money back and canceled the deal.

The victim didn’t receive any money from the suspect.
