Lead thievery

12:49 p.m. — 200 Block of River Beach Drive. Theft. The suspect was at work for about two hours, on his first day, before he was accused of theft.

He told his manager he had to leave for an emergency with his children and was told that company policy prohibited taking leads home. Another employee later realized, though, that the suspect's desk was cleared and leads were missing.

A witness told police he saw the suspect walk out with “nine large stacks of leads,” according to reports.

The suspect called the manager shortly after and he was asked to return the leads, which he did. But the manager believes he held on to some.

The company didn’t pursue charges.

Paying is for punks

6:11 p.m. — 1400 Block of Granada Boulevard. Shoplifting. The suspect entered the liquor store, grabbed bottles of tequila, whiskey and whipped cream vodka and brought them to the register.

After the clerk scanned the items, the suspect immediately grabbed all three bottles and ran out of the store. The suspect got into a black car then drove northbound on Williamson Boulevard.

The total value of the liquor bottles is $67.97, according to reports.
