Man sentenced to 20 years for local robbery
Jason Russell Dorava, 37, pled and was sentenced on Oct. 29 to a total of 20 years in state prison as a prison-release re-offender and habitual felony offender, with the first 15 years with no possibility of gain time, according to the state attorney’s office. Dorava pled no contest to robbery, false imprisonment, burglary of a dwelling and possession of cocaine.
In March of 2013, Dorava broke into an Ormond Beach condo and demanded the car keys from an 80-year-old woman, but he fled once he realized she did not own a car. Dorava also robbed a 60-year-old woman’s fanny pack and tried to push her off a hotel railing.
