This weekend's Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for Children raised enough in donation funds to surpass the $5 million mark since its inception 19 years ago.

Motorcycles, hundreds of motorcycles, lined through the parking lots and side streets of Destination Daytona Sunday morning, their engines revving in anticipating of the 19th-annual Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for Children.
"We passed the $5 million mark!" said Sarah Gurtis, corporate development officer for Camp Boggy Creek, the nonprofit camp for seriously ill children which the event benefits annually. Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Harley-Davidson has supported the camp since it opened, in Eustis, and this year's Ride for Children raised enough funds to surpass $5 million donated throughout the course of its 19-year lifespan.
Nearly 700 bikes participated in this year's ride — a 20% increase over last year's attendance. Spots in the ride sold out Saturday night.
This year's grand marshal, actor-director Steve Buscemi, led the procession, along with Jody Perewitz, the first woman to break the land-speed record.
