Residents can take a trip back in time next week, as Palm Coast Chiropractic Center will offering a free Paleo workshop 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15.

“The Paleo lifestyle works with our genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic,” said Dr. Jennifer Thornton, owner of Palm Coast Chiropractic Center. “It is great for diabetics, those with heart disease and inflammatory issues, and anyone that wants to live a healthier lifestyle.”

The Paleo lifestyle is based upon eating wholesome, contemporary foods from the food groups that our hunter-gatherer ancestors would have thrived on during the Paleolithic era, or Stone Age.

There will be free samples of Paleo food, as well as a testimonial from someone that lost 47 pounds on the diet and has kept it off. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 437-7111 or emailing [email protected].

Atlantic Grille and The Grand Club take top honors at Taste of Flagler
Armed with umbrellas, rain ponchos and a curiosity to explore what’s cooking in Flagler’s leading kitchens, guests poured into the 20th-annual Taste of Flagler on Sept. 23.

For the participating food establishments, Taste of Flagler is not just about raising awareness for their business or testing new menu items, it’s also about winning. And most competitors take the opportunity to win bragging rights for a year pretty seriously. This year, Atlantic Grille almost swept the awards, winning Best Appetizer Award for its tuna martinis; Best Entrée Award for its pan-seared salmon; and Best Dessert Award for its pumpkin flan.

The People’s Choice Award, also referred to as Best in Show, was awarded to The Grand Club.

“The restaurants and establishments that participated in this year’s Taste of Flagler really brought on their ‘A’ game,” said Rebecca DeLorenzo, president of the Flagler County Chamber. “The food was amazing, and we appreciate that our participants didn’t let the rain get in the way of having a great evening. Congratulations to the Atlantic Grille and The Grand Club for winning these awards and thanks to everyone who made Taste of Flagler a success.”
