Saving Lives: Firefighters of the Year honored

The Flagler/Palm Coast Kiwanis Club honored firefighters of the year from each department in Flagler County on Oct. 10.

“Being a fireman is a special breed of people,” said Kiwanian the Rev. Sim Jones after the awards were presented. “Firemen are a family, a brotherhood. Whether they are volunteer or they are paid. They are a family.”

Award recipients are as follows: Bunnell Firefighter Manuel Portela, Flagler Beach Lt. Stephen Cox, Flagler County Emergency Services firefighter/paramedic Aaron Price and Palm Coast Lt. Kyle Berryhill.
