It took Paula Wilburn, founder of Fun Coast Down Syndrome Association and coordinator for the eighth-annual Buddy Walk, an hour to sort through $1 bills and bags full of change donated by Rymfire Elementary students. Although Rymfire does not have any Down syndrome students at its school, the classrooms there banded together to raise $1,122 for the Buddy Walk, making them the team with the second highest funds raised.

The team from Flagler Palm Coast High School, led by sophomore Jessica Eatman, was named the Star Team for raising the most funds at $1,368.

Team Paulie’s Prayer Warriors, which raised $980, was also recognized at the Saturday, Oct. 12, event as the team with the most walkers, with 36 team members.
