With several talented freshmen and sophomores on the roster, the Seabreeze volleyball team has a head start on next season.

It was the picture-perfect start to the District 5-6A volleyball tournament for Seabreeze on Tuesday, at Matanzas High School.
Junior captain Cortney White gave her team an 11-0 lead over Mainland to start the first set of the tournament, and the Lady Sandcrabs never looked back, sweeping Mainland, 3-0, to advance to Wednesday’s semifinal matchup against No. 2-seeded Pine Ridge.

For a team with five seniors, the future is bright for Seabreeze, said coach Tarisa Craig-Craggy.
“Our girls really have gotten better every game, they’ve improved every game,” Craig-Craggy said. “We have a young team.”
One of the outside hitters, Vail Linn, is a freshman. The setter, Shannon Stack, is also a freshman. There are three sophomores on the team, and, of course, the team leader, White, still has another year.
“I have a lot young talent, and it’s progressing nicely,” Craig-Craggy said.
Craig-Craggy also said the five seniors have provided leadership throughout the season.
“Next year, we have a really young, talented base, so it’s going to be awesome,” she said.
