Six months after the FL.ROC running obstacle challenges boasted more than 2,000 runners, brothers Joe and Danny Matuszczak pulled out another event with more than 1,500 participants.

“We weren’t expecting it to top that spring event, but it’s showing that it can still sustain these numbers with races six months apart,” Danny Matuszczak said.

This is the first time that the race-directing duo has held two events in Flagler County within the same year. In the past, they have done events in Jacksonville, but have now decided to focus on one location, the Strickland property in southwest Flagler County.

“It’s our hometown, and it has been getting the best participation, so we’re excited about that,” Matuszczak said. “We want to be Flagler County’s mud run.”

This time around, obstacles were added on the front lake, including a second jump that allowed for better spectator participation.

The next event is scheduled for April 12, and registration is open at www.fl-roc.com.
