Reel in the Fun: Sept. 7

Ormond Beach kids will have a chance to reel 'em in this Saturday at the city of Ormond Beach's Reel in the Fun free fishing tournament.

Kids ages 4-12 will fish in 30 teams — each made up of one or two children accompanied by one adult — from the pier at the Bailey Riverbridge Gardens, at 1 N. Beach St.

Teams will be divided by age.

Contestants must provide their own fishing tackle, and children must have an adult with them. Fishing is catch-and-release only.

Teams will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and the fishing will begin at 9 a.m. and end 11 a.m. Prizes will be awarded afterward.

The competition is open to Ormond Beach residents only, and registration is required.
