Seabreeze’s starting volleyball lineup features two freshmen and two sophomores.

Much like their opponent last Thursday, the Seabreeze volleyball team has had trouble closing games out. With a young team, that’s going to happen.
But against Matanzas Sept. 12, Seabreeze (3-4) was able to do something it has struggled to do this season: win sets and win games.
Those two lead to winning matches.
“We are a very young team,” Seabreeze coach Tarisa Craig-Craggy said. The Lady Sandcrabs’ starting lineup features two freshmen and two sophomores. “But they are doing a great job learning the pace of the game.”
Seabreeze trailed by a handful of points in Game 1 against Matanzas — including 17-11, when it appeared the Lady Pirates would cruise to a win in the first game. But Seabreeze was able to rally and win the game. Craig-Craggy’s team went on to win Games 2 and 4 to win the match, 3-1.
“We are learning to finish out games,” she said. “A few times this season, we’ve won the first game but then have lost the match. We are working on this.”
Seabreeze went 2-1 last week.
Said Craig-Craggy: “The team is really starting to mesh. They show a lot of promise.”
