Sept. 20

A sandal-wearing baby thief?

6:23 p.m. — 30 block of Bear Den Path. Theft. The victim said several items had been taken from his lawn: a bird bath ($50 value), six stepping stones ($15), three circular sprinkler protectors ($12) and four six-inch bricks, all of which were made of gray cement.

On the scene, a small sandal footprint was found, but it was too shallow to photograph.

Wetting yourself: always a bad defense

12:52 a.m. — 40 Block of South Orchard Street. Assault. The officer stopped a car to check possible illegal window tinting, but after stopping, the driver got out and said, “What are you pulling me over for? I am on my own property. Get the (fa-fa-fooey) off my property!”

The suspect refused to obey orders to get back in his car. The officer noticed that his speech was slurred, he smelled of alcohol and he had urinated in his pants.

The officer noticed something in his mouth so asked what it was. The suspect said, “You want to see what is in my mouth?” and spat gum at the officer striking him in the chest.

The suspect was handcuffed by the officer and another officer who arrived on scene, but he struggled. That's when the officers deployed a Taser on him.

He was arrested for battery and resisting arrest without violence. The tinting was found not to be in violation.

Sept. 21

Give me a lift? How about your car?

2:52 p.m. — 1200 Block of Gallaten Road. Stolen Vehicle. The victims said yesterday they gave the suspect a ride to their home from the store with the plan that he would walk to a friend’s house nearby. He left but came back to hang out. The victim said the suspect made her nervous so she made him leave, which made him angry.

Later, the victims were driving home and saw the suspect at an intersection, and he approached their car and started yelling at them and banging on the windows. After arriving home, the victims went outside 45 minutes later and their car was gone.

The person next door said they saw the person who drove away in the car and he matched the description of the suspect. The victims said there were no spare keys.

Sept. 3

Friend suspected in gun theft

1:19 a.m. — 100 Block of River Beach Drive. Theft. The victim said his revolver was missing from underneath a chair in his bedroom next to the master bathroom. The victim stated that the suspect was at his residence earlier that day, and he used the master bathroom instead of the guest bathroom in the hallway. When he confronted the suspect about it, she said it was because the guest bathroom was really dirty.

The victim said the suspect was the only person in his residence that day. He also added that things go missing whenever the suspects comes over, which is about twice a week. He said the firearm is worth $409.95 plus tax and is loaded. The victim wanted to press charges.
