Do you know the history behind Flagler County? If not, or if you are looking for a chance to relive that history, the second-annual Flagler Heritage Festival is the place to be.
The event, sponsored by the Heritage Crossroads organization, runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29, at Thunder Gulch Campground on U.S. 1, in Bunnell.
The two-day festival features antique cars, a vintage motorcycle display from Destination Daytona, exhibits by the Flagler County Corvette Club and the Wheels in Motion Car Club, as well as live music, food, children’s games and a slew of historical re-enactors.
Volunteers needed for October Scare
The 12th-annual Habitat for Humanity October Scare will be scaring up the community on Oct. 24-27.
Event organizers are seeking volunteers who are brave enough to help at the event and also to create and man “Scare Stations.” If you dare to get into the most frightful season of the year, this is a great way to have fun while helping out Flagler Habitat for Humanity at the same time.
Any group or individual may enter the Dare to Scare contest by completing an entry form; find the entry information at the Flagler Habitat website at www.flaglerhabitat.com.
Tickets for the event are $10 at the door, with advance tickets available for $8 at www.flaglerhabitat.com.
To volunteer or be a contestant in the October Scare’s Dare to Scare Contest, contact [email protected] or call 446-2728.
