Take the money and run

12:00 p.m. — 200 Block of South Nova Road. Fraud. The suspect came in to open a bank account using a check out out to her for $200, according to an employee, and got a temporary ATM card in exchange.

After completing the transaction, the suspect walked to the ATM outside and withdrew the available $100 balance. That's when the employee realized that the check was forged. Photographs of the defendant were submitted into evidence.

A big, fat, boring mess

3:27 a.m. — 20 Block of Cypress Circle. Suspicious Incident. A witness heard a lot of banging, screaming and smashing coming from next door, so she called the cops. When an officer arrived, the neighbor opened the door to reveal a trashed residence with money, food, clothing, glass shards, makeup and movies lying everywhere.

The neighbor denied being in an altercation and said that when she came home from work as an exotic dancer at 3 a.m. she had a drink and caused the damage herself, but she wouldn't say why and refused to be evaluated by rescue personnel. She provided the officer with a written statement saying: “Nothing happened … nothing happened … this was really boring … OK.”

The officer filed a report, stating, "She does not appear to be a danger to herself but just messy.”

Sponsored post: Onstar

4:14 p.m. — 1500 Block of West Granada Boulevard. Stolen Vehicle. The victim said she left her car running in a convenience store parking lot while she was talking to a friend on a motorcycle. But, all of a sudden, two males jumped inside of it and took off.

The victim jumped on the back of the motorcycle and followed the car in hot pursuit. They also called 911 and were told to discontinue said hot pursuit.

An officer later called Onstar, which was able to give the location of the vehicle. Using that information, Air One spotted it driving toward Jean Street in Daytona Beach.

The car was towed in a nearby apartment complex and processed.

Put up your dukes

7:09 p.m. — 100 Block of North Nova Road. Trespasser. A convenience store clerk reported a homeless man loitering on store property, noting that he had visited the store three times that day. The clerk asked him to leave and the man said, “Call the cops if you want me gone.”

When officers banned the man from the property, he told them that he was “in the mood for a fight” and he was “not scared of a broken nose.” The officer told him fighting would not be tolerated in Ormond Beach.
