Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies issued 129 safety belt citations, 162 speeding citations, 43 uninsured motorist citations and four child seat citations while participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign March 1-15.
“The goal of programs such as this is not about issuing tickets, it’s about saving lives and reducing the number of severe injuries often associated with motor vehicle crashes,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said in a news release. “I commend our deputies for their efforts and hard work during the campaign.”
During the 15 days of increased enforcement, deputies also apprehended 17 fugitives, caught 29 people driving on suspended licenses, recovered a stolen vehicle and made 13 DUI arrests, 26 felony arrests, 16 drug arrests and 37 other arrests, according to the news release.
