Thirty riders showed of their skills Saturday, April 5, at the Whispering Meadows Ranch Horse Show.

The show was a celebration of what the students have learned throughout the year in their equine therapy ridding sessions at the ranch, which services children and adults with special needs.

“It’s also to honor their parents and community sponsors,” said Kristine Aguirre, program coordinator. “Make it a day just for the kids and their families to celebrate their accomplishments.”

Aguirre said it’s hard to express how much her riders have learned, some of them afraid to even touch a horse when they started their session. A couple of those students rode independently in the show Saturday.
