Matanzas tennis wins regions, will head to Orlando

The Matanzas boys' tennis team avenged a loss to Ponte Vedra in last week's district tiebreaker, beating the Sharks, 4-1, to win the 3A, region 2 championship . The squad will seek Matanzas' first team state championship on Tues. April 15, in Orlando.

Davey Roberts, Jason Legall, Nick Petrillo, and Sidney Moon swept their singles matches to clinch the team win without having to play doubles. The Pirates top quartet now has a combined record of 97-8 on the year.
