Never had your meal served by a law enforcement officer?
A Sheriff’s Office event Tuesday, April 22 will give you a chance, for a good cause: Deputies waiting tables at Bob Evans 4-8 p.m Tuesday will donate all of their tips to the Special Olympics, which offers sports training and competitions for people with intellectual disabilities.
“This is a great opportunity not only to support a special cause, but to meet your local law enforcement officers,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said in a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Kids of all ages are invited. There will be face painting, a balloon artist and special guests, and kids will get the chance to see Sheriff’s Office cars, a SWAT truck and the K-9 Unit, according to the news release.
One free kid’s meal is being offered at the time of an adult entrée purchase.
The Have a Meal and Tip-a-Cop event is part of fundraising efforts for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics scheduled for Saturday, April 26.
