Bank gets Live United Community Award
The United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties has recognized Fifth-Third Bank as the Live United Community Award winner for the fourth quarter of 2013. The bank’s eight branch locations in Volusia County participated in three of United Way’s Make a Difference Day projects, hosted a United Way employee campaign, partnered with the Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program to collect pet food for seniors in need, participated in financial literacy programs and conducted various other programs.

Hospital plans retirement party, open house
After 25 years, OB/GYN Dr. Irwin Landau has retired, leaving his practice to be continued at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
On May 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., Women’s Care OB/GYN has scheduled an open house for the public on the fourth floor of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach.
Guests will be able to see the familiar faces of Landau’s staff and wish him well on his retirement. They will also have a chance to meet the physicians who will continue his practice. Light refreshments will be provided and guests can tour the new office, located on the same floor as the BirthCare Center. Registration is required. Call 231-2229.
