Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre swore in four new deputies Aug. 20, administering the oath of office in an afternoon ceremony held at the Sheriff’s Operations Center.
“The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office takes pride in hiring qualified candidates who are energetic and committed to furthering their education,” Manfre said in a news release.
All four of the new deputies — Lauren Hart, Patrick Harvey, Jonathan Kuleski and Ronald Mellow — will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division after they complete an 18 week in-house training program.
Hart, 29, served in the Army for eight years and worked with the Olive Branch Police Department in Mississippi before moving to Florida. She is pursuing a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries with Oregon State University online.
Harvey, 22, worked with the University of Florida Police Department as a non-sworn service technician, and has a bachelor’s degree in criminology.
Kuleski, 21, worked with the Bunnell Police Department and is pursuing a degree in criminology at Daytona State College.
Mellow, 39, worked with the Boca Raton Police Department for 10 years, and has a master’s of criminal justice degree and a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies.
