FPRA Volusia/Flagler Chapter launches book drive for children
Driving for Literacy is the name of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Volusia/Flagler Chapter’s book drive beginning this this month and continuing through November.

Florida Ag. Museum receives bequest from former Ag. Commissioner
The Florida Agricultural Museum received a generous bequest of $25,000 from the estate of the late Doyle E. Conner, Sr. Conner is remembered for his life-long commitment to Florida agriculture, its history and its future.

Conner served as the seventh Commissioner of Agriculture. During his administration, he founded the Florida Agricultural Museum in 1983 with the help of other Florida agriculturalists and historians who were concerned by the increasingly rapid loss of rural working lands and the stories of the people who worked them to development. Today, the museum is located on 460 acres in Palm Coast. It showcases numerous historic structures, heritage livestock including Florida Cracker Cattle and Horses, and heirloom gardens.

"The Florida Agricultural Museum is a great place for our students and other visitors, both young and old, to learn about the importance of agriculture to our state," said current Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putman. "The gift from the Doyle Conner Foundation continues the legacy he left this state in his more than 30 years of service as Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture."

Conner's gift will be used to further the Florida Agricultural Museum's educational mission and enhance the quality of its programs for Florida residents and visitors alike.

"This is a very powerful commitment to the Florida Agricultural Museum," said Andrew Morrow, executive director of the museum. "Gifts like Commissioner Conner's allow the museum to create an engaging museum for people to learn about the history and importance of agriculture in this state."
