The final results are in, with Flagler County Commission incumbents Frank Meeker and Nate McLaughlin narrowly beating out opponents Dennis McDonald and Mark Richter in Tuesday’s primary, and School Board incumbent Andy Dance besting opponent Maria Pinto-Barbosa by 2,497 votes and 20.22 percentage points, the widest margin of victory in any of the county-wide races.

“I'm just humbled that the voters have entrusted me with this responsibly for four more years,” Dance said after the results came in Tuesday night. “I'll continue to work hard for our students in the district.”

McLaughlin beat Richter by 237 votes — 3.78 percentage points — and Meeker beat McDonald by just 208 votes and 3.22 percentage points.

School Board incumbent Trevor Tucker barely retained his seat — by just 60 votes — against challenger Michael McElroy, while one Flagler County School Board race and both Palm Coast City Council races are heading for runoff elections.

School Board District 2 incumbent John Fischer will face off against Janet McDonald, who bested him in the primary by just 24 votes. Toni Baker and Lynnette Callender were eliminated from the race.

The City Council District 2 runoff will pit Anne-Marie Shaffer, who brought in 3,952 votes and 41.27% of the vote, against Heidi Shipley, who brought in 3,309 votes and 34.56%. Candidate Joel Rosen was eliminated from the race.

In City Council District 4, Steven Nobile, who brought in 3,529 votes and 36.5% of the vote, will compete against incumbent William Lewis, who brought in 2,765 votes and 28.6%. Candidates Woody Douge and Norman Weiskopf were eliminated from the race.

All 23 of Flagler County's polling precincts have reported complete results for the Aug. 26 primary elections. Results for multi-county and statewide races reflect results posted on the state Division of Elections website.
