About 100 children from Flagler Head Start, the Family Life Center and Espanola were given gifts Friday night at the African American Cultural Society’s 21st-annual Christmas Gift Giving event.
“This is just one of many ways that we reach out to the community,” said Chairperson June Bethel.
Thanks to the generosity of the members, AACS President Stephanie Ecklin said they were able to service more children than ever before.
“Next year, I would love to open it up the the community more,” Ecklin said. “It's important because you can work all year long, but if you aren't giving back, then what's the point.”
