Detectives have reopened the 1997 disappearance case of a Mondex man, and are seeking the public's help to solve it.

Robert Patrick Picard was reported missing Sept. 30, 1997. The 37-year-old was living in a rented trailer on West County Road 2006 in the Mondex area, and Flagler County Sheriff's Office detectives investigating the case at the time believed the scene suggested foul play, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

They've now discovered new information and reopened the case.

“We believe that someone may have information relevant to the disappearance of Mr. Picard and that at the time that person may have been reluctant to come forward out of concern for their own safety,” Corporal Nate Koep of the Sheriff’s Office Persons Crimes Unit said in the news release. “We want to provide the Picard family with answers about what happened to their loved one.”

The Sheriff's Office has asked anyone with information about the case to call Detective Mark Moy at 586-4899 or to call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
