DAYTONA BEACH — Mainland defensive back Arthur Westbrook has picked up an offer from South Alabama, according to 247Sports.com.

"I was very excited because it was my first offer, but I can't stop now," Westrbook said in a story posted on southalabama.247sports.com.

Westbrook, a junior, compiled 84 tackles and snatched five interceptions as a safety on Mainland's defense last season.

The Bucs (12-2) lost to Miami Central in the Class 6A semifinals.

The South Alabama Jaguars are a member of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and compete in the Sun Belt Conference.
