Business women get health tips
Joann Stegner, owner of Endorphins Fitness, discussed health and workout myths, along with methods to achieve a healthy heart and body, at the February meeting of the Business & Professional Women's Club of Halifax. Stegner is certified through the International Sports Sciences Association and owns Endorphins Personal Training and Fitness Studio, at 101 Second St., in Holly Hill.
The club meets the second Tuesday of each month with networking at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a program at Vince Carter's Restaurant, on LPGA Boulevard. For reservations, contact Cynthia Ramirez, at [email protected], or call 235-3680.
Center for Health and Wellness opens
Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center will host an open house 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, for its new Center for Health and Wellness, located on the first floor of the Medical Office Building, at 305 Memorial Medical Parkway. A free nutrition seminar and tips for preventing diabetes and heart disease are planned.
Cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes education, as well as outpatient physical, speech and occupational therapy, will be moving from their present locations to the new center.
“The center was designed not only to provide therapy but also to teach our community about healthy lifestyles,” said Darlinda Copeland, chief operating officer for the hospital.

State job bureaus change names
The Center of Business Excellence will now be known as CareerSource Flagler Volusia.
Across the state, 24 regional workforce organizations, the One Stop Career or Employment Centers and the state workforce board, are now operating with new brand names and logos. The purpose, according to officials, is to better align the workforce system and improve use of services.
