PALM COAST — The redevelopment of the Palm Harbor Shopping Center has been delayed by at least two weeks, officials announced Tuesday.
The city was prepared to vote on the second reading of the rezoning of 28.89 acres at the northwest corner of Florida Park Drive and Palm Coast Parkway for the Island Walk project during Tuesday’s City Council meeting, but Michael Chiumento, the attorney representing the developer, asked for a continuance.
“We’re not prepared — the transaction is not prepared — to move forward today,” Chiumento said, citing closing and title issues. “We try to make them all meet in the middle.”
The project was also delayed in January.
The City Council unanimously approved the continuance. The second reading of the rezoning will be time certain for 6:30 p.m. March 4, at the Palm Coast Community Center.
Earlier this month, the City Council unanimously approved the rezoning of the project.
