Mainland's Meiko Dotson picks up offer from Charlotte

The 49ers are an NCAA Division I program that will play its first full season in 2015.

DAYTONA BEACH — Mainland cornerback Meiko Dotson picked up an offer from Charlotte earlier this week, according to an Orlando Sentinel story.

This is Dotson’s first offer.

“It’s very excited,” Dotson said in a story posted on orlandosentinel.com. “Every day I think about it and it just makes me happy, but I can’t stop there. I gotta keep pushing.”

Dotson, a junior, had eight interceptions as part of Mainland’s shutdown defense. The Bucs (12-2) lost to Maime Central in the Class 6A semifinals. Dotson had two interceptions in that game.

The 49ers are an NCAA Division I program that will play its first full season in 2015.
