The one-year anniversary of the Flagler Beachfront Winery's opening is coming up, and they are doing it big.

The celebration, which will be March 1 starts at 1 p.m. with the Cork Olympics. The events, which are free to participate in include a cork bounce, cork toss and cork throw. There will also be a wine bottle distance game, a slushy drinking contest, barrel rolling tournament and name that wine contest.

In addition to the day-of events, crafty win lovers can participate in four activities to be made before the celebration and dropped off at the winery; winery wine glass decorating, repurpose a Beachfront Winery bottle, design a new winery label, and cork ornament making. All entries will be placed on display for judging and must be dropped off on March 1 between noon and 1 p.m.

The day of contests will wrap up with awards at 4 p.m. and live music with Rick Blaine until 7 p.m.

The Wine & Tap room will be serving wine by the glass or bottle and beer on tap. It will have live music a few nights of the week and weekly specials.

Owner Scott Champion, who moved to Palm Coast from Miami, is striving for a be achy feel to the bar. Hours of operation will be seven days a week from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.

A grand opening is planned for around Easter.

Champion said he has hopes to continue to revive the European Village with live music on a regular basis on the center courtyard stage and by eventually launching an art and wine walk.
