Its4uMom, a community group at Parkview Baptist Church in Palm Coast, delivered 50 port pillows to the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Library at Florida Hospital Flagler.

Ports are devices placed in the chest wall to deliver chemo for breast cancer patients. The port pillows are tiny cushions that can be tied to seatbelts to alleviate any discomfort breast cancer patients may feel from a seatbelt resting on an implanted port.

“We chose the Cancer Library because we know how hard it is to accept changes in our body due to illness,” said Candy Peterson, chairwoman of Its4uMom. “We felt this was a great opportunity to share God’s love and make port pillows for those in treatment.”

Any breast cancer patient can stop by the Judith C. Macko Cancer Resource Library, located on the second floor of Florida Hospital Flagler, to receive a free pillow.

Boy Scouts serve at River to Sea Preserve
Boy Scouts from troop 270, led by future Eagle Scout Micah Iversen, recently conducted a service project at the River to Sea Preserve, in which they ran a water pipe to the main campsite where many nonprofit organizations, including Boy Scouts in this area, camp.

This water line removes the need for a long trek to the nearest water source.
