Increased Flagler County Sheriff’s Office patrols on New Year’s Eve and early New Year’s Day netted 11 traffic citations, 22 warnings, one arrest for driving with a suspended license, two warrant arrests and two arrests for impaired driving, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

And although there were four crashes reported over the New Year’s holiday, none involved injuries.

“I am truly thankful that our community was able to get through the New Year holiday without a single serious motor vehicle crash occurring in the county,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said in the news release.

Seven deputies assigned to the special holiday shift worked from 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to 3 a.m. New Year’s Day to identify impaired drivers. They conducted a total of 41 traffic stops.
