Matanzas offensive lineman Loubens Polinice has committed to Florida A&M University, Pirates coach Jeff Nettles confirmed Monday.

Polinice, who had two full scholarship offers, said it was a tough decision that would impact the rest of his life. But he's happy with his decision, he said.

"Hard work pays off, and I'm very excited," he said. "It will be tough, but I have to keep pushing and grinding."

Polinice was selected to the play in the War of the Border All-Star game last weekend in Georgia, but he was on an official visit and couldn’t attend.

FAMU is an NCAA Division I-AA member and competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

He will sign on National Signing Day (Feb. 5).
