Stewart-Marchman Act CEO to retire

Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Healthcare CEO Chet Bell will retire Dec. 31.

Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Healthcare provides mental health, substance abuse and other behavioral services in Volusia, Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns County, and Bell became its CEO in 2008, according to a press release.

He began working at the Act Corporation in 1980.

The agency employs more than 550 people and provided services to more than 21,000 people in 2013, according to the press release.

Stewart-Marchman Act Board Chairwoman Rosaria Upchurch and Chairwoman-elect Connie Ritchey will co-lead a board committee to develop a transition plan.
