Parking for Waterfront run moves to community center

Parking for the Saturday, Jan. 18 Waterfront 10 Mile & 5K Run/Walk will be located at the Palm Coast Community Center, at 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE.

Buses to transport race participants to and from Waterfront Park will leave the center at 5:45 a.m. All participants must be on the shuttle by 7:15 a.m. to ensure their arrival in time for the race’s 7:45 a.m. start.

Buses to transport participants back to the Palm Coast Community Center will begin immediately after the race and continue after the awards ceremony.

Handicapped parking will also be provided at Waterfront Park, 150 Waterfront Park Road (off Colbert Lane).

Online registration is continuing through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14. Visit palmcoastgov.com/WaterFrontRun.

Fees for early registration are $30 for the 10 Mile and $25 for the 5K, with a $10 student rate (ages 18 and younger), sponsored by Florida Hospital Flagler. Veterans with military ID get in free.

A Kid’s Fun Run (free for children 7 and under) will start at 8:45 a.m.

Once online registration closes, participants can register in person at the Palm Coast Community Center, 350 Palm Coast Parkway NE, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Signups will also be available the morning of the race, 6-7 a.m. at the community center, or 6:30-7:30 a.m. at Waterfront Park. Registration after Jan. 14 will cost $40 for the 10 Mile and $35 for the 5K.

The 10-mile course will wind along the Intracoastal Waterway and over the Hammock Dunes Bridge and back. The 5K will wind along the trail system headed north from Waterfront Park. The 10-mile race will begin first, at 7:45 a.m., and the 5K will begin at 7:50 a.m.

The Waterfront Run will be the fourth of nine races in this year’s Palm Coast Running Series. First-place prizes will be awarded to overall male and female winners, with first-, second- and third-places also awarded in 17 age categories.

The races will be chip-timed.

Packets will be available at the community center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17. T-shirts and goody bags are guaranteed to those who pre-register. Refreshments will be provided. Awards ceremonies will be held after each race.
