A 42-year-old Ormond Beach woman has come forward as the ninth victim in a developing investigation into rape charges filed against Terry Freeman, 32, of Deltona.

Investigators filed sexual battery charges against Freeman Wednesday, Jan. 15, after the victim came forward this week to report that her  had assaulted her in 2012.

Freeman was initially arrested on Dec. 31, 2013, less than a week after a 25-year-old Altamonte Springs woman accused him of sexually assaulting her during a date. The Ormond Beach victim came forward after hearing accusations against Freeman from several other victims, dating back to 2011.

The victim said she met Freeman in late 2012, at a restaurant in Daytona Beach where Freeman worked as a server. During dinner, Freeman made a few flattering remarks toward the victim, and then he brought her the bill with his phone number on it. After their initial encounter, the two sent text messages back and forth, and the victim agreed to go out with Freeman the next day.

On the night of their date, the victim said she picked up Freeman at his house in Deltona, and the two went out to eat in Orange City. Afterward, they went back to Freeman’s house. While there, Freeman went into the bedroom and called out to the victim, saying he wanted to show her something. When she walked into the bedroom, the victim said Freeman shut the door, picked her up and violently slammed her down on the bed, and then pinned her under his body while sexually assaulting her.

After, the victim said she was freaked out but managed to gather herself and leave the house.

Freeman remains in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach. Sheriff’s investigators believe there still could be additional victims. Other victims or anyone with additional information regarding Freeman are urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office, at 860-7030.
